Your agency is in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, or Argentina. A client in Florida hires you, pays in dollars, and is happy. They ask for a second service, then refer two friends. Suddenly your agency runs on U.S. clients, and you're working on their schedule, in their language, and around their dates.

It's a great opportunity. It's also a different challenge from serving local clients.

Why U.S. businesses hire Latin American agencies

  • Language and culture. Many Hispanic businesses want to speak to their community in Spanish, with the right tone.
  • Competitive pricing. They can pay less than they would a local agency, and you earn more than you would with a client paying in local currency.
  • Personal service. You talk to them the way they talk, on WhatsApp, without corporate formalities.

That combination works really well with restaurants, salons, construction, immigrant services, retail shops, and independent professionals. These are businesses that often started through word of mouth and now need to look professional on social media and on Google to compete with bigger players. Writing for a client in Texas isn't the same as writing for one in New York, and the business owner notices right away.

Getting paid in dollars without the hassle

Set your prices in dollars from day one, even if your team works in local currency. A few recommendations:

  1. Have at least two international payment methods.
  2. Charge in advance, always.
  3. Send invoices in English and Spanish if the client needs them.
  4. Factor in each platform's fees when you set your price.

If your production costs are also in dollars, your margin doesn't depend on the exchange rate. That gives you peace of mind. See how to organize billing in collecting monthly retainers at your agency.

Delivering in English without sounding translated

Many Hispanic business owners in the U.S. have customers who speak English, or a mix. They need bilingual content that sounds natural, not something run through a phone translator.

  • Ask in the brief which language each piece should be in.
  • Avoid literal translations of idioms.
  • Double-check service names, prices, and units (miles, feet, Fahrenheit).
  • Follow U.S. dates and formats (month, day, year).

If your team isn't fluent in English, lean on a production team that is.

Another detail: English copy for a U.S. business has to sound local. Writing for a client in Texas isn't the same as writing for one in New York, and the business owner notices right away. When in doubt, ask how they talk to their own customers and match that tone.

Time zones: the part that burns you out most

A client in California messages you at 7 p.m. their time, and for you it might be the middle of the night. Set clear rules:

  • Business hours written into the agreement.
  • An average response time (for example, the same business day).
  • One channel for real emergencies and another for everything else.

If the client needs their own customers served after hours, that's a different service: 24/7 customer support or Artificial Intelligence for WhatsApp, which you can also sell.

It's also worth keeping U.S. holidays in mind. Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July, and Memorial Day are dates when your client expects special content and sometimes campaigns. If your country doesn't celebrate them, put them on your calendar in January so they don't catch you off guard.

How to produce for the U.S. without carrying it all yourself

Many Latin American agencies produce with a white label team that already works with Hispanic businesses in the U.S. You keep the relationship and bill in dollars; the team produces in Spanish and English and delivers to you. The client never knows there's a third party, as we explain in your client will never know there's a third party.

At Blides, that's how we work from Orlando: we bill the agency in dollars, deliver in Spanish and English, and never contact the end client.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run an agency in Latin America and bill U.S. clients in dollars?

Yes. The usual approach is to charge in advance through Zelle, PayPal, or card, with prices set in dollars from the start.

Do I need to deliver content in English?

It depends on the client. Many Hispanic businesses in the U.S. need pieces in Spanish, in English, or bilingual, so it's best to ask in the brief.

Does Blides work with agencies outside the U.S.?

Yes. We work with Latin American agencies that have U.S. clients, we bill in dollars, and we deliver white label in Spanish and English.
