You've had a social media client for a year. One day they message you: "Hey, can you build me a website? And while you're at it, do you know how to put an Artificial Intelligence on my WhatsApp?" You don't code. You've never set up an AI. What do you say?
Many freelancers and small agencies say no. And with that "no," the client goes looking for someone else. Sometimes that someone ends up taking over the social media too.
What you lose by saying no
When a client asks you for something new, they're telling you they trust you. Saying no has costs:
- You lose a sale that was almost closed.
- You open the door to the competition. Another agency gets in through the website and then offers everything.
- They see you as smaller than you are.
- You leave money on the table month after month if it's a recurring service.
But saying yes when you can't deliver is worse. Poor work damages the relationship you already had.
Your three options
| Option | The upside | The risk |
|---|---|---|
| Say no | Honest, with no immediate risk | You lose the sale and may lose the client |
| Learn as you go | You add a skill | The client pays for your learning curve |
| Produce it with a team behind you | You deliver quality and keep the client | You need a reliable partner |
The third one is what growing agencies use. You're still the face in front of the client, and a specialized team does the production.
How to respond in the moment
If you don't have the answer ready, don't improvise a price or a date. Buy yourself time professionally:
- Thank them and show interest. "Of course, I love that you're thinking of me for this."
- Ask questions. What they want to achieve, by when, what examples they like.
- Ask for time to put together a proposal. "Let me put a proposal together and I'll send it over."
- Check with your production team before promising anything.
- Come back with a clear proposal: what's included, how long it takes and how much it costs.
Those questions are also the start of the brief. We explain how to do it right in how to get a brief from your client.

You can see the full list in services your agency can sell starting tomorrow.
What you should never promise
- Guaranteed results. No serious professional guarantees sales from ads.
- Dates you haven't confirmed. Ask first, then promise.
- Features that don't exist. If you're not sure something is possible, check.
- Prices off the top of your head. Quote with the agency pricing list in hand.
Saying "let me confirm with my team" doesn't make you look small. It makes you look serious.
An example of how it looks in practice
Say you manage social media for a dental clinic and the owner asks for a website with an appointment form. You ask the brief questions, pass them to us, and we confirm the timeline and the agency price. You present the proposal under your name, with your margin. We design it, they see the design in PDF, approve it, and in 5 to 15 days they have their website, which they can also edit without coding.
They never found out you don't code. What they did find out is that their agency solved what they asked for, and now they pay you for social media and a website. It's an example, but it's the path many growing agencies take.
You don't need to know everything
You need to know enough to understand what your client is asking for and explain the process. Learn the basics of each service: what it is, what it includes, how long it takes and what information is needed. We handle the technical side, and if your client asks a tough question, you pass it to us and we give you the answer so you can give it to them.
Do you have an agency or work on your own? We are your production team.
You sell and bill under your brand; we handle social media, ads, websites, AI and support at agency pricing. Your client never knows we are behind it.
Turn every request into an opportunity
Next time a client asks for something you don't know how to do, don't see it as a problem. It's a client who wants to buy more from you. Message us on WhatsApp, ask for our agency pricing list, and reply with a "yes, I'll put it together for you."
Frequently asked questions
Can I sell a website if I don't know how to code?
Yes. We hand-code it with its own editing system and deliver it to you. You present it and bill your client.
What do I do if my client asks a technical question I can't answer?
Send us the question and we'll give you the answer so you can pass it on. We never talk to your client directly.
Can I quote a price without knowing what it costs me?
Better not. First ask for the agency pricing list on WhatsApp, then quote with a clear margin.
